[Error: unknown template qotd]I have an outsized fear of tidal waves. There are a lot of things out there that can kill you, many of which are far more common in my area (i.e. tornadoes), but there's nothing like looking up in the distance and seeing a towering wall of water coming your way from which there is no escape.

Yeah, so that thing about living in Atlanta? Zero chance of tidal waves. I've checked the science and the math. Because yeah.

Same for flooding if all of the ice caps melt. We'd have a beach within an hour or two of our house, but no underwater land for us.

It is a pretty compelling argument for living inland. This was only really a concern for the years I spent living in coastal cities.
